Footwork is an InDesign Add-on by Bookraft. I was asked to write the User Guide for Footwork vs. 1.7. The previous user guide was very brief. They desired a guide that was much more comprehensive, giving more background information about how the product works.
The purpose of the guide is two-fold: To help existing users learn the product, and to help prospective buyers evaluate the product's capabilities.
The project involved learning the intricacies of how Footwork functions, how it is different than InDesign's automatic footnote feature, creating example documents, and thinking about how to best explain the tool to users.
