New script makes adding hyperlinks easy
Try this free script to quickly assign hyperlinks to text and objects
I previously had posted a script named "Add hyperlink to selected text from clipboard" that made assigning URL hyperlnks to text simple and accurate. An avid user of that script asked me to add the ability to have the script assign hyperlinks to selected objects as well as text. I added that capability, and renamed the script "Add hyperlink to selection from clipboard".
To use the script, just copy a URL to the clipboard. Then, select an object or some text, and double-click the script in InDesign's Scripts panel. The script will construct a valid, non-shared-destination hyperlink for the object, and if the selection is text, assign a character style to the text as well.
